MISOR Shore Breakers to Compete in the 2nd Amihan National Skimboarding Competition 2018

The local skim boarders from the province of Misamis Oriental is set to compete in the 2nd Amihan National Skimboarding Competition happening on April 27-29, 2018 at the Dahican Beach, Mati, Davao Oriental.

The 2nd Amihan National Skimboarding Competition celebrated in connection to the 14th Founding Anniversary of Amihan sa Dahican Surf and Skim Team which was founded by George "Kuya Jun" Plaza, a native from Dahican, is one of the sporting events of the widest and longest Visit Davao Summer Festival 2018 program.

The team from Misamis Oriental known as the MISOR Shore Breakers is to be headed by Steve Norman Ebonia known locally as "Kinkin", a professional skimboarder and surfer, and will be joined by the following skimboarders that has already proven their career on the water sports, winning from various skimboarding tournaments both Visayas, and Mindanao. The names of the skimboarders are as follows:

- Richard "Sasik" dela Cruz

- Benjie "Benz-e" Ebonia

- Sonny Boy "Dudza" Yana

- Arnel "Arnel" dela Cruz

- Lester "Panoy" Rosal

- Crismar "Crismar" Lariosa

The 7 skimboarders from MISOR Shore Breakers will compete on the 4 categories which include Masters, Advance, Beginners, and Legend showing their skills to the competition with other skimboarders from different parts of the country. According to the organizers of the event, around 100 are expected to join the competition to all the five categories which includes a division for "Women" defended by Lang Aporbo, the younger sister of Mati City's pride and International skimboarding champion, Sonny also known as "Bayogyog".

"We are very happy to receive the news that we will be joining the 2nd Amihan National Skimboarding Competition which was revealed to us by our Team Facilitator, Mr Clement." said by Kinkin, the Team Leader. "It feels great to be back in Dahican. It's been years since the last time we joined and competed their skimboarding tournaments. The opportunity given to us, and the support from different organizations is overwhelming. Thanks to the effort of Mr Clement who keeps on inspiring us to push our limits, and hone our skills while enjoying the watersport." he added. 

The MISOR Shore Breakers Team is facilitated by Mr Clement Dampal II, a Hotelier, Photographer, Travel Blogger, Writer, and the Project Director of the SHORE-BREAKS: A Skimboarding Competition, considered as the biggest skimboarding event in Northern Mindanao, and sponsored by the following:

Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental, Apple Tree Resort and Hotel, Clement Dampal Photography, Tangcalagan Enterprises, and Municipality of Opol.
